Sunken Driveway and Side Entrance Concrete Lifting in New London, WI
Before
Older concrete around this New London, WI home had experienced years of settlement, leaving several driveway slabs and the concrete near a frequently used side entrance noticeably sunken. The uneven transitions created bumps and trip hazards while also affecting how smoothly the homeowner could travel between the driveway and side door.
As concrete ages, the condition of the soil underneath becomes especially important. Wisconsin's seasonal moisture changes and repeated freeze-thaw cycles can cause supporting soils to shrink, settle or erode. Once voids develop beneath a slab, the weight of the concrete can cause it to sink even though the concrete itself may still be in good enough condition to save.
After
Rather than removing and replacing the older concrete, Sure-Dry used PolyLevel® to lift and stabilize the affected slabs. Small injection holes were strategically drilled through the driveway and side entrance concrete, allowing lightweight polyurethane to be injected into the voids below.
As PolyLevel expanded, it filled those empty spaces and provided controlled lifting pressure to bring the sunken slabs closer to their proper positions. Compared with traditional mudjacking, PolyLevel requires smaller injection holes, adds significantly less weight to already-compromised soils and cures quickly.
The repair improved the uneven transitions throughout the driveway and near the side entrance while allowing the homeowner to keep their existing concrete instead of replacing slabs that still had useful life remaining.

Crawl Space Vapor Barrier Encapsulation & Repair for Home Additions in New London, WI
Before
This New London, WI home had two smaller crawl spaces located beneath additions that had been built onto the original home. Both areas had exposed surfaces that allowed ground moisture and humidity to enter the spaces below the living areas.
Even smaller crawl spaces can affect the home above them. Moisture entering from exposed soil and foundation walls can contribute to musty odors, elevated humidity and damp crawl space conditions. Wisconsin's seasonal temperature changes can make controlling moisture in these enclosed areas especially important.
After
Sure-Dry encapsulated both crawl spaces using CleanSpace®. The durable liner was installed across the floors and extended up the crawl space walls, separating the areas from ground and wall moisture.
CleanSpace creates a continuous moisture barrier that helps reduce water vapor entering the crawl space while providing a much cleaner environment beneath the additions. Extending the system up the walls is an important part of the encapsulation because moisture can enter through more than just the exposed ground.
With both crawl spaces encapsulated, these additions now have cleaner, drier and better-protected areas underneath them.

Wet Basement Waterproofing and Wall Stabilization Foundation Repair in New London, WI
Before
This New London, WI homeowner was dealing with more than one basement problem. Water intrusion was creating wet conditions along the foundation walls and floor, while portions of the foundation also showed signs of inward movement that required structural attention.
Moisture can enter a basement through foundation walls as well as the joint where the walls meet the concrete floor. Wisconsin's changing soil moisture, heavy rains, snowmelt and freeze-thaw cycles can also place considerable pressure against foundation walls. When water problems and wall movement occur together, addressing only one of them leaves an important part of the basement unprotected.
After
Sure-Dry designed a combined basement waterproofing and foundation repair solution. CleanSpace® was installed along the basement walls to create a durable moisture barrier and direct wall seepage into the drainage system.
Because conditions in this basement called for a drainage solution installed along the wall rather than beneath the floor, DryTrak® was installed to collect incoming water and channel it toward the sump system.
An UltraSump® system was installed to provide dependable pumping protection and remove collected groundwater from the basement.
To address the structural concerns, PowerBrace™ beams were installed against the affected foundation walls. The galvanized steel beams provide permanent stabilization without requiring excavation outside the home.
With drainage, wall moisture protection, sump pumping and structural stabilization working together, this basement is now better protected against both water intrusion and continued foundation wall movement.

Fieldstone Crawl Space Repair & Vapor Barrier Encapsulation in New London, WI
Before
This older New London, WI home had changed over the years as additions were built onto the original structure. Beneath portions of the home were crawl spaces with exposed fieldstone foundation walls and ground surfaces that allowed moisture and humid air into the areas below the living space.
Older fieldstone crawl spaces can be particularly challenging because of their irregular surfaces, numerous gaps and the amount of moisture that can migrate through the stone and soil. Wisconsin's changing seasons, wet weather and freeze-thaw cycles can make these conditions even more noticeable.
Damp crawl spaces can contribute to musty odors, elevated humidity and moisture around the wood framing supporting the floors above.
After
Sure-Dry encapsulated the crawl space using CleanSpace®. The durable liner was installed across the ground and carefully extended up the irregular fieldstone foundation walls to create a more complete moisture barrier.
Working around an older home's fieldstone foundation and additions requires careful installation because the surfaces aren't as uniform as those found in newer poured-concrete or block foundations. The CleanSpace system was fitted to the unique layout of these crawl spaces to separate the home from moisture coming through the ground and foundation surfaces.
The finished encapsulation provides a cleaner, drier environment beneath the home and helps protect the structure above from the effects of crawl space moisture.

Basement Egress Window Installation in New London, WI
Before
This New London, WI homeowner wanted to improve their basement with a properly installed egress window. The existing basement had limited natural light and did not provide the larger window opening and exterior access that an egress system can offer.
Adding an egress window involves much more than simply replacing an existing basement window. A new opening must be carefully created through the foundation wall, and the window and exterior well need to be installed with proper attention to drainage and protection from Wisconsin's rain, snow and freeze-thaw conditions.
After
Sure-Dry installed a complete egress window system, creating a significantly larger opening that allows more natural light into the basement while providing an emergency exit from the space.
Our crew carefully cut the new foundation opening and installed the window and exterior well as a complete system. Proper installation around the opening helps protect the basement from water intrusion while creating a brighter, more usable environment inside.
The finished egress window provides this New London home with an important basement improvement that combines natural light, accessibility and added functionality.
