Photo Album: Permanent Foundation Support Solutions in Irma, WI
In Irma, WI, this homeowner began noticing cracks forming along their basement walls. Foundation wall cracking can be a sign of pressure from the surrounding soil, and if left unaddressed, it may lead to continued movement and water intrusion.
After a detailed inspection, our System Design Specialist determined that the walls needed both structural stabilization and proper drainage protection. To provide a long-term solution, we recommended the PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System along with the WaterGuard Interior Drainage System.
Our production team installed the PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System, which uses heavy-duty zinc-plated steel beams secured to the basement floor and framing above. This system stabilizes bowing or cracked walls and can be tightened over time to help gradually improve wall alignment without exterior excavation.
To address potential water intrusion through the cracks, we also installed the WaterGuard Interior Drainage System along the basement perimeter. This below-floor drainage system captures groundwater seepage and filters it directly into the home’s existing sump pump system for safe discharge away from the foundation.
With both structural reinforcement and waterproofing in place, this Irma basement is now stable, protected, and built for the long term. The homeowner can move forward with confidence knowing their foundation is properly supported and their basement is safeguarded against future moisture issues.
Exterior Excavation for Foundation Repair
Exterior excavation was carefully completed to access the foundation wall and relieve soil pressure contributing to inward movement. After exposing the wall, it will be straightened as needed and reinforced with the PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System to provide long-term structural support.
Trenching Along Foundation for Structural Correction
A trench was excavated along the foundation to allow for proper wall adjustment and structural repair. Once the wall is straightened, the PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System will be installed to stabilize the structure and help prevent future movement caused by soil pressure.
PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System Installation in Progress
During installation of the PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System, steel beams are positioned vertically along the basement wall to address cracking and inward movement. Each beam is securely anchored to the basement floor and framing above to provide long-term structural stabilization.
After PowerBrace Installation: WaterGuard Interior Drainage System Added
After the PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System was installed to stabilize the foundation wall, the WaterGuard Interior Drainage System was placed below the basement floor along the perimeter. This system captures groundwater at its entry point and directs it safely away before it can reach the basement surface.
PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System and WaterGuard Installation
Multiple PowerBrace Wall Stabilization System beams were strategically placed along the wall to evenly distribute soil pressure and reinforce the entire foundation. Following stabilization, the WaterGuard Interior Drainage System was installed below the basement floor to capture groundwater and direct it safely away, protecting the wall from future moisture intrusion.
