The block walls of this home in Plover, WI were showing the telltale signs of foundation wall failure: Horizontal or stair-step cracking along the foundation walls, and inward bowing or bulging along the walls. The cracking and bowing of this home's basement walls were due to expansive soils and hydrostatic pressure on the walls from outside.

Solution

To stabilize this home's basement walls and to potentially straighten the walls back to their original position over time, Sure-Dry Basement Systems installed their Geo-Lock™ Wall Anchor system.

Wall anchors can repair many bowing wall problems. Soil anchors are placed in the ground outside the home. Steel rods attached to soil anchors extend through the foundation wall and wall plates. Wall plates distribute clamping pressure. Tightening nuts on the threaded ends of the rods stabilize the wall for a permanent solution.
