Sure-Dry Case Studies: Caving Walls Replaced in Wausau, WI

Challenge

A home in Wausau, WI had an accepted offer and a closing date set, but the buyers had concerns about the stair step cracks observed in the exposed block walls, and the deal was in jeopardy. I shot the plumb of the walls with my laser level and found ¾ inches of inward deflection in both the front and back walls.

Solution

Given the situation, our crew put together a solution using our Supportworks Geo-Lock Wall Anchor System, which allows us the flexibility to adjust location to accommodate wall obstacles and minimize finished wall removal.

Our crew stabilized the walls a few weeks after the new owners moved in; another foundational save. These new homeowners will never have to worry about their walls caving in at all!

By using our laser level we detected caving in these walls due to the outside dirt pushing tight against the basement walls, forcing them to cave.

Our crew installed GeoLocks which will eventually pull the wall back to its correct position.
