Creating a Dry, Clean Basement in New Franken, WI

Creating a Dry, Clean Basement in New Franken, WI Creating a Dry, Clean Basement in New Franken, WI

In this basement in New Franken, WI water had managed to seep it's way through the concrete pours and soak around the perimeter of the basement.

We installed the WaterGuard System, which will collect water that seeps in and will drain it to the sump pump. With its tiny openings at the top of the guard, water will no longer be able to sit on this basement floor ever again.

Before:
The basement took on water along multiple wall–floor joints after rain and during thaws. Puddles, musty odors, and efflorescence were common, and humidity made storage difficult year-round.

After:
We installed the WaterGuard® interior drainage system along the leaking perimeter to intercept seepage at its source and carry it to a new SuperSump® with an airtight lid, high-reliability pump, and clean finish. The foundation walls were lined with CleanSpace® vapor barrier so any wall moisture is directed into WaterGuard instead of onto the floor. To control airborne moisture, a SaniDry™ dehumidifier was added and set to maintain healthy RH, draining automatically.

The basement is now dry, brighter, and ready for reliable use—even during heavy rains.

Before:
The crawl space had exposed soil, musty odors, and seasonal puddling. Leaky rim joists let in cold, humid air, leaving floors above chilly and adding moisture to the space. Without a dedicated drainage or humidity system, the area felt damp year-round.

After:
We encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace®—sealed across the floor and up the walls with tight, taped seams and mechanical fastening. Around the perimeter, joints and penetrations were sealed, and vents were closed to block outside air. We air-sealed and insulated the rim with RimTight™ to stop drafts and reduce condensation. For water management, we installed a SuperSump® with an airtight lid and check valve. Finally, a Sedona dehumidifier was added to maintain healthy relative humidity and drain automatically.

The result is a dry, clean, and tighter crawl space that improves comfort and air quality in the home above.

Crawl Space Waterproofing and Insulation in New Franken, WI

A New Franken, WI homeowner contacted Sure-Dry for help improving the conditions in the crawl space beneath the home. During the inspection, the System Design Specialist evaluated the exposed ground, foundation walls, rim joist, and overall moisture conditions. Ground moisture was able to enter the crawl space, while air leakage around the rim joist contributed to temperature and humidity fluctuations. With Northeast Wisconsin's humid summers and cold winters, controlling both moisture and outside air infiltration was important for creating a more stable environment beneath the home.
Sure-Dry installed the CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier System across the crawl space floor and up the foundation walls, creating a continuous barrier between the home and the moisture in the soil below. The crew also installed RimTight™ Rim Joist Insulation to seal and insulate the rim joist area, helping reduce outside air infiltration and improve the crawl space's thermal boundary. Together, these crawl space repair improvements addressed two important sources of moisture and energy loss rather than simply covering the exposed ground. The completed project provided the homeowner with a cleaner, drier, and better-insulated crawl space with improved protection throughout Wisconsin's changing seasons.

Basement Water Control & Dehumidification in New Franken, WI

A New Franken, WI homeowner contacted Sure-Dry after experiencing water and excessive moisture in the basement. During the inspection, the System Design Specialist evaluated where groundwater was entering along the foundation perimeter and assessed the basement's overall moisture conditions. Seasonal rain, melting snow, and saturated soils can increase hydrostatic pressure around foundations in Northeast Wisconsin, allowing water to find its way through vulnerable areas where the basement floor and foundation walls meet. A basement waterproofing system was recommended to actively collect and remove this water while also addressing humidity in the basement air.
Sure-Dry installed the WaterGuard® Interior Drainage System along the foundation perimeter to intercept incoming groundwater before it could spread across the basement floor. WaterGuard directs collected water to the SuperSump® Sump Pump System, where it can be pumped safely away from the foundation. To provide additional moisture control, the team installed a SaniDry™ Dehumidification System to remove excess humidity and help reduce conditions that contribute to musty basement odors. By combining interior drainage, dependable sump pump protection, and controlled dehumidification, Sure-Dry provided the homeowner with a comprehensive basement waterproofing solution designed to keep the space drier and healthier year-round.

Foundation Repair & Wall Stabilization in New Franken, WI

Sure-Dry had worked with this New Franken, WI homeowner many years earlier to address basement water concerns with a waterproofing system. When the homeowner later noticed signs of foundation wall movement, they contacted Sure-Dry again to evaluate the basement. During the inspection, the System Design Specialist assessed the affected walls for bowing and inward movement while also considering the existing waterproofing system and overall basement conditions. Hydrostatic pressure and expanding soils outside a foundation can place significant lateral force against basement walls, making professional foundation repair important when structural movement develops.
To stabilize the affected walls, Sure-Dry installed the PowerBrace™ Wall Stabilization System. Each engineered steel beam was positioned against the foundation wall and secured at the floor and framing above, creating a foundation repair system designed to prevent further inward movement without exterior excavation. PowerBrace can also be tightened incrementally over time when conditions permit, providing an opportunity to improve the wall's position rather than simply holding it where it is. By returning to Sure-Dry for this new structural concern, the homeowner was able to build upon the basement waterproofing work completed years earlier and add long-term stabilization for the foundation walls.

Concrete Driveway Leveling, Repair & Sealing in New Franken, WI

A New Franken, WI homeowner contacted Sure-Dry because the concrete driveway slabs immediately in front of the garage had cracked and sunk. While most of the driveway was blacktop, the concrete approach slabs had settled independently, creating uneven transitions in an area that regularly handles vehicle traffic. The System Design Specialist inspected the cracking, slab elevations, and transitions between the concrete, asphalt, and garage to determine where diminished soil support and underlying voids were contributing to the settlement. Addressing these conditions with concrete leveling could restore the slabs without requiring complete removal and replacement.
Sure-Dry's concrete leveling contractor team installed PolyLevel® High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam through small injection points in the affected slabs. As the polyurethane expanded, it filled underlying voids and allowed technicians to perform controlled concrete lifting to improve the elevations in front of the garage. The team then applied NexusPro® Concrete Joint Sealant to appropriate cracks and joints to help reduce water infiltration that could contribute to future soil erosion and settlement. Compared with mudjacking, PolyLevel places significantly less added weight on the supporting soils and requires smaller injection holes while providing precise lifting and stabilization. The completed concrete repair improved the transition from the blacktop portion of the driveway to the garage and gave the homeowner a more stable, even surface.

Uneven Concrete Driveway Repair & Joint Sealing in New Franken, WI

After approximately 15 years, a New Franken, WI homeowner began noticing settlement across several concrete surfaces around the property. Sections of the driveway had dropped, while the walkway leading to the side entrance of the garage and portions of the front sidewalk were also beginning to sink. During the inspection, the System Design Specialist evaluated slab elevations and settlement patterns to identify areas where loss of soil support had contributed to movement. Uneven driveway and sidewalk slabs are common reasons homeowners seek a concrete lifting company or concrete leveling contractor, particularly when settlement begins creating rough transitions and potential trip hazards.
The Sure-Dry installation team used PolyLevel® High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam beneath the affected driveway and sidewalk slabs. The expanding polyurethane filled underlying voids while allowing technicians to carefully lift and stabilize the concrete toward the proper elevations. After the concrete lifting was completed, NexusPro® Concrete Joint Sealant was installed along appropriate joints and cracks to help reduce water infiltration and future erosion beneath the slabs. This combination is used by Sure-Dry for sinking and uneven driveways and sidewalks throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Compared with mudjacking, PolyLevel provides a lightweight approach that requires smaller injection holes and allows for controlled adjustments during the lifting process. The completed repair provided the homeowner with a more stable driveway, safer access to the side garage entrance, and a smoother front sidewalk without requiring complete concrete replacement.

Settled, Uneven Concrete Driveway and Walkway Repaired in New Franken, WI

A New Franken, WI homeowner contacted Sure-Dry after noticing settlement affecting the concrete driveway and walkway leading to the side entrance of the home. During the inspection, the System Design Specialist evaluated slab elevations and settlement patterns, identifying areas where soil movement and moisture-related erosion had reduced support beneath the concrete. The resulting uneven slabs created rough transitions across the driveway and a potential trip hazard near the side entrance. These conditions are consistent with concrete settlement Sure-Dry has addressed elsewhere in Brown County, where water infiltration and void formation beneath slabs can contribute to differential settlement.
The Sure-Dry installation team used PolyLevel® High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam to perform controlled concrete lifting and concrete leveling across the affected driveway and side walkway. Small injection ports allowed the expanding polyurethane foam to fill voids beneath the slabs while technicians monitored the lift to improve alignment and stabilize the concrete. NexusPro® Concrete Joint Sealant was then applied to appropriate joints and cracks to help reduce future water intrusion and erosion beneath the repaired surfaces. Compared with traditional mudjacking, PolyLevel adds significantly less material weight beneath the slabs and allows for precise lifting with minimal disruption. Sure-Dry uses PolyLevel and NexusPro specifically for concrete leveling and sealing of driveways, sidewalks, and other exterior slabs. The completed project gave the homeowner a more stable driveway, improved walking surfaces, and safer access to the side entrance of the home.

Concrete Driveway and Walkway Lifted, Repaired & Joints Sealed in New Franken, WI

A New Franken, WI homeowner contacted Sure-Dry after noticing settlement affecting multiple concrete areas around the home. The driveway and side walkway had developed uneven sections, while the concrete pad supporting the central air conditioning unit behind the house had also settled and needed additional stabilization. During the inspection, the System Design Specialist evaluated slab elevations and settlement patterns to determine where voids and weakened soil support were contributing to movement. Water infiltration and soil washout beneath concrete can contribute to differential settlement, particularly as Wisconsin's seasonal conditions repeatedly expose exterior slabs to moisture and freeze-thaw cycles. Sure-Dry has documented similar driveway settlement in New Franken involving voids and failed joints that allowed water into the subbase.
The installation team used PolyLevel® High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam to fill voids beneath the affected slabs and perform controlled concrete lifting and concrete leveling across the driveway, side walkway, and central air unit pad. The lightweight expanding foam allowed the crew to stabilize the concrete without the heavier material used in traditional mudjacking. After the lifting work was completed, NexusPro® Concrete Joint Sealant was installed along appropriate cracks and joints to help keep water from reaching the supporting soils below. PolyLevel and NexusPro are specifically used by Sure-Dry for lifting, stabilizing, and sealing driveways, sidewalks, and other exterior concrete throughout Northeast Wisconsin. The finished concrete floor repair provided improved support and alignment across all three areas while giving the homeowner greater confidence that the slab beneath the central air equipment was stable and properly supported.

Concrete Driveway Leveled, Repaired & Joints Waterproofed In New Franken, WI

Assessment:
Inspection showed voids under several panels and failed/missing joint sealant. Water was infiltrating the subbase, causing washout and differential settlement.

Solution & Steps:

  1. Lift & stabilize (PolyLevel®): Mapped lift points, drilled small (~⅝") injection ports, and injected expanding polyurethane foam in controlled increments. Using a laser level, we restored target elevations and corrected drainage away from the garage and entry points.

  2. Seal & protect (NexusPro®): Routed and cleaned cracks and control joints, installed backer where needed, and applied NexusPro for a flexible, UV-resistant seal that keeps water out and tolerates temperature swings.

  3. Finish: Patched injection ports with non-shrink grout and cleaned the work areas for a neat, professional look.

Outcome:
The homeowner regained level, stable concrete with properly sealed joints and improved drainage—often ready for foot traffic the same day and vehicle traffic the following day. The repair boosts safety, curb appeal, and durability without the cost and disruption of replacement.

Crawl Space Moisture & Dehumidifier System Installed in New Franken, WI

Assessment:
Inspection showed ground moisture, wall staining from past seepage, air leaks at the rim joists, and elevated humidity migrating into the living areas.

Solution & Steps:

  1. Prep & grading: Removed debris, smoothed high/low spots, and placed drainage matting in low areas to prevent moisture from trapping beneath the liner.

  2. Encapsulation (CleanSpace®): Installed the liner across the floor and up foundation walls; mechanically fastened and sealed all seams/penetrations, and closed exterior vents to isolate the space from outdoor air.

  3. Rim sealing (RimTight™): Air-sealed and insulated the rim joist band to stop infiltration, reduce cold floors, and minimize condensation risk.

  4. Water management (SuperSump®): Set a sealed sump liner with high-quality pump, alarm, and check valve; routed discharge per code and verified flow.

  5. Humidity control (Sedona): Installed and calibrated the dehumidifier to a target RH, with condensate routed to the sump for automatic removal and airflow arranged for even circulation.

  6. Verification: Restored access, documented baseline humidity/temperature, and reviewed a simple maintenance plan (sump checks, filter changes, quick liner inspections).

Outcome:
The crawl space now maintains stable humidity, resists groundwater intrusion, and is sealed against outdoor air—delivering warmer floors, reduced odors, and long-term protection for the home’s framing and mechanicals.

Basement Sump Pump Installation In New Franken, WI

Assessment: Active cold-joint seepage, efflorescence (mineral staining) on lower walls, an undersized sump pump, and elevated humidity.

Solution & Steps:

  1. Perimeter capture (WaterGuard®): Saw-cut a narrow trench along problem walls, set WaterGuard atop the footing with wall flange, added cleanout ports, and pitched to the new sump location.

  2. Pumping capacity (SuperSump®): Installed a sealed SuperSump liner with check valve, alarm, and serviceable components; routed discharge per code for dependable flow.

  3. Wall isolation (CleanSpace®): Mechanically fastened CleanSpace to the foundation walls, sealing seams and penetrations so wall moisture drains into WaterGuard.

  4. Humidity control (SaniDry™): Placed and calibrated the dehumidifier to a target RH; condensate line tied into the sump for automatic removal and set for even air circulation.

  5. Finish & verification: Restored the concrete over the trench, tested pump/alarm operation, confirmed drainage, and reviewed maintenance (service ports, sump checks, filter changes).

Outcome:
The homeowner now has a continuous path for groundwater, dependable pumping, sealed walls, and controlled humidity—delivering a dry, healthy basement with long-term protection.

No More Mold or Health Concerns in Green Bay, WI

When a Green Bay resident inherited her childhood home from her mother she knew it would be her forever home. Unfortunately, the home was having water and mold issues which was a big problem because she had asthma and other health issues. In addition to health concerns, she couldn’t use the basement space and didn’t even want to go downstairs!  Since moving into the home, the homeowner experienced an increase in her coughing and wheezing, began feeling drained of energy, and felt upset at the possibility of not being able to live there. She wanted the problems fixed immediately.

I was able to work with this homeowner by first understanding the specific outcome(s) she hoped to achieve, next by sharing the findings from my thorough inspection, then by showing her the solution(s) we offer to achieve her desired outcome. Together, we came up with a plan to address all of her concerns, so that she did not have to live in fear of her home causing additional health issues.  Sure-Dry installed a full perimeter water control system which included our patented WaterGuard system. When reviewing sump pump options this homeowner opted for our TripleSafe sump system, which includes a battery back-up motor capable of discharging roughly 12,000 gallons of water on a full charge, in the event of a prolonged power outage. We sealed all the walls with our CleanSpace Wall System and addressed her concerns regarding future mold growth with an Aprilaire whole home dehumidification system, which aides in ensuring the relative humidity inside the home is under control.  This homeowner was proud to report that her home back to how she remembered it and that she no longer has to worry water intrusion or health concerns stemming from the basement.  In her words, “Job well done!”
