4. Finish & verification: We restored the concrete over the trench, tested both main and backup pumps, confirmed discharge routing, and reviewed maintenance (lid checks, service ports, backup battery).

Outcome:
The home now has a continuous path for groundwater, dependable pumping capacity, and sealed walls that prevent water from re-entering the space. The basement remains dry during storms and spring melt, giving the homeowner long-term protection and usable square footage.
