Crawl Space Fan
Dry Your Crawl Space With An Easy, Economical Ventilation Option
What It Does:
Venting a crawl space with outside air brings summer humidity and cold winter air into your home, which leads to damaging mold and rot underneath your home.
The Crawl-O-Sphere Crawl Space Fan provides another way to ventilate a crawl space environment-- with the already-conditioned air present in your home.
The Crawl-O-Sphere is intended as part of our crawl space vapor barrier system. When combined with our crawl space moisture barrier and vent covers, it provides a cost-effective way to keep a crawl space dry. The Crawl-O-Sphere is for use in homes that have a central air conditioning system.
Installation Time:
Mounting a Crawl-O-Sphere between the floor joists and installing a vent to the floor above can be done in the same time frame as the rest of your crawl space system.
Properly Ventilating A Crawl Space
There are many products on the market these days that are used to ventilate crawl spaces. Some suggest take air inside your crawl space and blowing it out of the house. Others recommend blowing air from the outside into your home. But what if it's damp, humid, or cold outside?
At Sure-Dry Basement Systems, we recommend installing a crawl space dehumidifier over using a crawl space fan. However, in certain homes it makes sense to dry your space using the Crawl-O-Sphere.
Since an encapsulated crawl space becomes part of your housing envelope, you can dry it without significant changes in your home's energy efficiency. Depending on the size of your crawl space, this system will typically draw between 15 and 80 cubic feet of air per minute from the home above.
